I have an idea.
Wilatt’s Creative Project
While fabrication and repairs are what we do every day, every now and then an idea comes along that lets us build something a little different.
I Have An Idea.
When Zak hears those four words, there's usually equal parts terror and intrigue. He never knows what’s coming his way next. Is he up for a quick afternoon project or a week-long fabrication challenge? But as the saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them — now it’s not just Lara bringing the out-the-gate ideas to the table!
This is where those ideas live. It’s a space for our creative projects to be showcased. Some are inspired by conversations we’ve had with customers or friends, and some have come from solving a problem we've seen in the workshop. Others start with something heading to the scrap bin followed by a stern, “Oh no it isn’t!”
So, welcome to I Have An Idea.

Corten Planter Box with Chain Link Creeper Frame
A one-of-a-kind planter fabricated from reclaimed chain-link fencing and weathering steel. Designed to develop a natural rusted patina over time while creating a striking architectural feature for the garden.
The story of this planter started with a section of chain link removed from an old gate.
As it was being carried past the office, Lara looked up, saw it, and asked, "Where's that going?"
"Scrap bin," replied Zak.
"Hold on, I have an idea for that."
The chain link returned to the workshop, a quick concept was sketched up, and this planter was born.
